INTRODUCTION
BROKEN
A glass falls on the floor and shatters into hundreds of pieces; a judge signs a piece of paper ending a twenty year marriage; both are broken. Which is more devastating the broken glass or the broken marriage? The obvious answer is the broken marriage yet the consequences of a broken glass may be more visible.
No one escapes life without experiencing some type of brokenness maybe not in terms of a marriage but in other areas of life. You may not consider yourself “broken” because you are carrying out day to day activities. You may be like the favorite mug that has a crack in it, broken but still functional. Are you determined to continue using the mug until it falls to pieces or do you think it is time to purchase a new one? Where are the cracks in your life?

NOT ASHAMED
Shame can be the result of real or perceived rejection from people whose opinion you value; it is a side effect of brokenness. Shame associated with brokenness can cause desperation to ferment within ones’ soul. Desperation may lead a person to do things that can be embarrassing later on. This book examines one of these actions; spending money.
Pride becomes a defense mechanism protecting an individual from the shame of whatever is going on in his or her life. The more shame an individual experiences the less help he or she may seek and the deeper in trouble a person may become. Learning to be broken and not ashamed is a process which is important to explore if you want to achieve financial success.

THE BIBLE
Unlike a shattered glass or a cracked mug brokenness is just an interruption in your life. Many of the biblical greats experienced brokenness at some point in their lives: Moses, Sarah, David and the Mary just to name a few. What distinguished these men and women were their dependence on God for help. David expressed his brokenness to Father God:
To You, O LORD, I lift up my soul. O my God, I trust in You; let me not be ashamed; let not my enemies triumph over me. Indeed, let no one who waits on You be ashamed; let those be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause. Show me Your ways, O LORD; teach me Your paths. Psalm 25:1-4
Because shame is an emotion triggered by the opinions of others by examining God’s word you will learn how to not be ashamed regardless of your circumstance. Pulling down the stronghold of pride and getting passed the shame is an important step towards financial success. In this book I will look at how to overcome financial brokenness by revealing biblical principles associated with giving and receiving.

BOOK OVERVIEW
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17
It is important to evaluate preconceived ideas before presenting new information. I have divided this book into four parts: Part One is dedicated to prevalent attitudes regarding lifestyles. Part Two examines ways church leaders contribute to our financial philosophies. Part Three looks at “Attitudes” about money and giving and “Trust” as it relates to faith. And Part Four, assuming you can accept parts one and two discuss receiving from God the biblical way.
